We had a fantastic time on this tour. Our guide was incredibly well-informed and shared so much insight about the region and its historical background. The only real challenge was the intense summer heat. Thankfully, we came prepared with UV-blocking umbrellas, which made a huge difference. I did notice that some others in the group struggled without proper shade or water. If you’re planning a visit to Troy during peak summer months, I’d highly suggest packing wisely — lots of water, high-SPF sunscreen, and a sturdy sun umbrella that won’t flip in the wind. Despite the heat, everything else about the day went smoothly. The transportation was reliable, the ferry was well-coordinated, and lunch was great. The tour company did a superb job overall — would absolutely recommend them!
An incredibly well-organized day trip from Istanbul to Troy. Pickup was seamless, and the ferry crossing was a relaxing start. Our guide shared captivating stories about the ancient city, pointing out the legendary walls and excavated ruins. Walking where the Trojan War might have taken place was surreal, and the reconstructed wooden horse was a nice touch. Lunch by the seaside added a peaceful break before the return drive.
Loved seeing the ruins and hearing the myths. Food was superb and very fresh.
The guide explained Troy’s layers beautifully, and the ferry crossing was peaceful. A long day but worth it!
The tour was exceptionally well-run, with a knowledgeable guide who explained Troy’s history layer by layer. The long drive was broken up by scenic stops and a comfortable ferry crossing. Seeing the legendary ruins firsthand gave me a deeper appreciation for Homer’s Iliad. Lunch at a local restaurant was delicious and gave us a taste of regional Turkish cuisine.
Great way to visit Troy from Istanbul. The drive was long but comfortable, and the ruins were fascinating to explore.
This tour was a perfect blend of history and nature. The drive from Istanbul was long but comfortable, with plenty of breaks. The ferry ride offered lovely sea views. At Troy, our guide painted vivid pictures of ancient battles and mythological tales. I especially enjoyed seeing the remnants of different Troy layers and walking the same paths that Homer wrote about. The included lunch was fresh and tasty.
The logistics were flawless—the ferry, the palace visit, Spice Bazaar shopping, and lunch by the Bosphorus all flowed perfectly. The guide’s insight into the Ottoman sultans was fascinating. Ending the tour at Çamlıca Hill with coffee and fresh air was a highlight.
