Day 1: Private Red Tour Cappadocia
Your journey begins with a hotel pickup in Istanbul, followed by a transfer to the airport for your domestic flight to Cappadocia (flight not included). Upon arrival at Kayseri or Nevsehir Airport, you will meet your experienced private guide and begin your exploration of Cappadocia.
The first stop is the Goreme Open Air Museum, one of the region’s most significant attractions. This UNESCO World Heritage Site features nine ancient rock-carved churches adorned with well-preserved frescoes. Dating back over 1,000 years, the museum offers a glimpse into the monastic life of early Christian communities.
Your guide will provide historical insights into the site’s religious and cultural significance. After spending 1.5 hours at the museum, we continue to Love Valley Panorama Point, where you will enjoy panoramic views of Red and Rose Valleys and the famous fairy chimneys.
Next, we visit Pasabag Fairy Chimneys, also known as Monks Valley, home to some of the best-preserved fairy chimneys in Cappadocia. These multi-headed rock formations offer a stunning geological spectacle, and your guide will explain their unique formation and history. We then drive to Avanos, a town known for its 4,000-year-old pottery-making tradition along the Red River.
You will witness a live pottery demonstration, showcasing techniques passed down since the Hittite civilization. Following the demonstration, we continue to Devrent Valley (Imagination Valley), famous for its whimsical rock formations resembling animals and objects, including the famous camel-shaped fairy chimney.
This valley encourages creativity and imagination, as visitors identify various natural sculptures within the rock formations. At 3:30 PM, we will return you to your hotel in Cappadocia. Overnight stay at a cave hotel (hotel not included).
Day 2: Private Green Tour Cappadocia
Your guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel at 9:30 AM to begin the Private Green Tour, which focuses on Cappadocia’s underground cities, canyons, and historical monasteries. The first stop is Goreme Panorama Point, offering a spectacular aerial view of Goreme Town and the surrounding valleys. Your guide will provide insights into the region’s geology and historical development.
Next, we visit Derinkuyu Underground City, the largest underground city in Cappadocia, extending 60 meters below ground. This ancient city features storage rooms, kitchens, churches, ventilation shafts, and living quarters, providing an insight into how early inhabitants used these subterranean structures as a refuge.
From here, we continue to Ihlara Canyon, one of Turkey’s most scenic canyons. You will take a 3-kilometer guided hike along the Melendiz River, passing by rock-cut Byzantine churches decorated with frescoes. The hike concludes in Belisirma, where you will have free time for lunch at a riverside restaurant (lunch not included).
After lunch, we take a 15-minute drive to Selime Monastery, the largest religious structure in Cappadocia. This remarkable rock-hewn monastery includes a cathedral, kitchen, monastic dormitories, and chapels, all offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape. To conclude the tour, we drive back to Uchisar for a final stop at Pigeon Valley Panorama, where you can take in the breathtaking views of Uchisar Castle and the thousands of pigeon houses carved into the cliffs.
After the Cappadocia 2-Day Tour from Istanbul, we will transfer you back to the airport for your return flight to Istanbul (flight not included). Upon arrival, our driver will meet you and transfer you back to your Istanbul hotel, marking the end of your unforgettable Cappadocia adventure.
