Tour Itinerary

Begin your journey with your first real encounter with Cappadocia’s extraordinary, almost Martian landscape at Devrent Valley. Known for its surreal rock formations shaped by centuries of wind and erosion, Devrent Valley sparks the imagination with its animal-like and whimsical shapes.

Continue to Pasabag (Monks Valley), where you will discover the famous “fairy chimneys.” Here, the voice of the wind seems to harmonize with the ancient spirit of the region, creating a magical atmosphere among the towering stone formations. From there, proceed to Avanos, the historic center of Cappadocia’s terracotta art.

Set along the banks of the Kızılırmak River, Avanos has been a center of pottery production since Hittite times. Stroll through the charming old town and witness the traditional craftsmanship that continues today. After a delicious lunch at a local restaurant, visit the world-renowned Goreme Open Air Museum, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

This fascinating complex of rock-carved churches and monasteries is home to some of the finest examples of post-iconoclastic Byzantine frescoes, offering a vivid insight into early Christian life in Cappadocia. In the afternoon, journey underground to explore one of Cappadocia’s ancient underground cities.

Originally carved out to provide refuge from invasions, the underground city consists of nearly one hundred interconnected tunnels, with living quarters, storage rooms, churches, and communal spaces. It stands as one of the most impressive underground settlements in the region, where early Christians lived in fear yet preserved their faith.

Conclude your day with a visit to a handmade carpet cooperative, where you will observe the intricate craftsmanship and centuries-old techniques of traditional Turkish carpet weaving. Return to your hotel enriched with the history, culture, and breathtaking landscapes of Cappadocia.
