Most of the monumental structures at Pergamon were built during the reign of King Eumenes II (197–159 BC), a period of great cultural and political prosperity.

Semih, our guide, and Can, our driver, gave us a wonderful tour of ancient ruins at Pergamon. Both the health site of Springwater, baths, small theater, and library; and the hill top ruins of temples, castle rooms, walls, and theater were included. Semih is so knowledgeable on the history and geography of the sites. His commentary both at the sites and on the road made for a rich and enjoyable day. Great accommodations made for our food allergies at lunch. I highly recommend this tour.
